my valentine
this comp book page is dedicated to jerry, my husband, for our first anniversary on valentine's day. i've always loved the song by martina mcbride "valentine," so i used the lyrics from the song in the shape of a heart on this page.
the page was already painted various shades of pink w/ acrylic paint. i very lightly free-handed a "loose" feeling heart shape that spiraled inward w/ a white prang colored pencil. then i decided to use the white prang colored pencil to write the words on the page as well. i worked with paper under my hand to keep from smearing the writing as i worked.
when i was done, i sprayed the page w/ matte finish sealant. once that was dry, i painted the page w/ future floor wax because i like the shine and protection that it offers in the finished product. plus, the pages never stick together after using future floor wax, even if the book is close tightly for quite some time.
