IF - surrender
the topic posted on www.illustrationfriday.com on 1/28/11 was "surrender".
the first thing i thought of (after the stereotypical thoughts of white flags and gunpoint) was something to do w/ food, sneaking something that i/we couldn't or shouldn't have. so, my "surrender" was a bite out of a cupcake, like finally giving in a tasting it after looking at it sitting there.
this sketch is just done in ballpoint pen in my calendar. my calendar has become my motivation for doing something artwork each day. it's a motivation, addiction, determination right now. we'll see how long this lasts!

Lovely sketch! =) It's a good time for a cupcake, all the time.
Great idea, how I identify with this one. Even looking at a drawing of something chocolatey makes my mouth water!
And now I want a cupcake for breakfast! Lol!
Great job!
Guess who?
nice take on the subject! does make me crave for cupcakes though ;-)
It's a good plan. I'm always telling myself that I need to make some kind of art every day. I don't achieve that. I'm lucky to make a couple sketches per week, and then maybe something "finished" every week and a half.
We're trapped in the house because of snow, and I'm way craving something sweet. Cupcakes would be nice, but I would never be satisfied with just one bite.
for those who have commented -- just b/c there is 1 bite out of the cupcake doesn't mean i'll be stopping there. i consider it a full surrender! if i gave in -- it's MINE! as long as i can avoid them, i do . . . but once i don't, i just eat one and call it wonderful!
So glad to see you back drawing. I'm always so proud to see your work. Love Mr Wonderful
Jill - Great Interpretation of the theme for Surrender. I and really love the fact that you draw in your calendar - it would stop me being precious about that scary blank white page.
I had also thought of white flags and guns for Surrender theme, but ended up with something else

Love the cupcake sketch, however, I'd prefer chocolate with chocolate fudge icing. I'm a big time chocoholic.
What a fun interpretation of the challenge. Great idea to draw in your calendar to keep you going!
